REDEEM ADJUDICATED PROPERTY

Which Best Describes You?
Property Owners/Heirs

Individuals or families who currently own—or have inherited—adjudicated, vacant, or blighted property in New Orleans.

Property owners and heirs often face legal, financial, and informational barriers that prevent properties from being returned to commerce. 1735 works directly with owners and heirs to provide property research, historical documentation, and guidance on available pathways under local and state law. Engagement occurs through direct communication and is handled case by case to protect ownership rights, reduce risk, and support informed decision-making.

Neighbors/ Community Stakeholders
Residents, neighborhood associations, and community members impacted by nearby vacant or adjudicated property.

Vacant and adjudicated properties affect neighborhood safety, stability, and quality of life. 1735 engages with neighbors and community stakeholders to share information, document conditions, and support coordinated pathways toward reuse. While 1735 does not operate open enrollment programs, community input plays an important role in informing research priorities and partnership-based solutions.

Aligned investors, developers, nonprofits, lenders, or institutions interested in responsible, community-centered property reuse.

Investors & Institutional Partners

1735 collaborates with select investors and institutional partners to responsibly address adjudicated and vacant property through research-driven, legally compliant strategies. Partnerships are formed intentionally and focus on long-term community outcomes rather than speculative acquisition. All collaborations are invitation-based and structured to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with public interest goals.

Redeeming Adjudicated Property in New Orleans

Adjudicated property is land or buildings taken into public ownership after years of unpaid property taxes.

In New Orleans, thousands of lots remain vacant—not because they are unusable, but because the process to redeem them is confusing, fragmented, and rarely explained to the public.

This platform exists to change that.

Through research, public records, and plain-language education, we make adjudicated property understandable and actionable—for owners, heirs, buyers, and neighborhoods.
